Spies, Like Us!
Each year, Nauticon has a different theme. In the past, the celebration has featured pirates, Vikings, Greek gods, and more! This year, the theme is “Spies, Like Us!” So, bring your James Bond best and plan to take part in all of the shenanigans and silliness!
“Not-A-Con” Like Any Other
While the Nauticon name is a nod to Provincetown’s seaside location, it also derives from a more literal origin. The event prides itself on being “Not-A-Con.” Instead of offering the traditional comic-con experience, Nauticon is the “ ‘boiling down’ if you will, of what makes cons fun to those over the age of 21.” The event website goes on to say that “Nauticon (The 21+ Convention) is a creative and fun way for fans of anime, science fiction, fantasy, comic books, and all things nerdy to get together and get to know one another.”
What to Expect at Nauticon 2017
You can register for Nauticon online or at the door. When you do, you’ll see that Nauticon offers a variety of special events and exciting things to do, no matter what your interest may be. Almost all of the events are included in the cost of event badge. Here is just a taste of what you can expect:
- Anime, science fiction, comic books and webcomics panels
- Star Trek or Doctor Who discussions
- Programs run by the Dirty Old Lady’s League and the Miracle Providers Drag Queens
In addition, Nauticon also organizes activities like:
- A hike out to the lighthouse
- Shopping in Provincetown
- A creativity table
- Karaoke

- Fan-run parties
- The Artists Colony
All of the events listed above are included in the cost of your weekend pass. But, for a small fee you can add even more great things to do! You can:
